Authorities are investigating after a police dog responded to an unattended bag at Newark International Airport this morning, NBC reports. The police dog was brought in after the bag was reported near the AirTrain entrance at Terminal C around 9:45 a.m., and the canine indicated it was suspicious, authorities said.

Police set up a perimeter after the report, and a bomb squad was called to the scene.

Chopper 4 footage from the airport shows several police vehicles at the terminal.

The terminal has not been evacuated, but no non-emergency personnel are being permitted to enter the terminal.

The Federal Aviation Administration reports the security situation is affecting air traffic arriving at the airport. Travelers or people headed to the airport to pick up travelers are advised to check flight status with their carriers.
