Universal Geirus Process For Europe

At a conference in Monaco, the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) issued resolutions to standardize European conversions.

According to the resolutions, only established and prominent botei din in Europe which deal in all types of beis din affairs may perform conversions. Conversions will not be carried out for people from places with no proper religious community infrastructure. In addition, a committee will be established to transfer archives of European and overseas botei din to cloud storage.

The CER signed a memorandum of understanding with the United States Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad arranging for the two organizations to exchange information on cemeteries and shuls in eastern and central Europe.
