josh-pruzanskyThe New Jersey State Senate Judiciary Committee has voted late tonight by a 7-6 margin to approve the Same Gender Marriage Bill.

The Bill goes to the full Senate for a vote on Thursday. Please call your elected officials to voice your opposition to S-1967.

There several reasons to oppose this Bill.

First, the institution of marriage between one man and one woman is something that has existed from the beginning of Creation. The Jewish Religion believes a strong family unit is the bedrock of our society. To create a new norm at the expense of our beliefs, and forcing us to accept it, is wrong.

Second, the Bill does not contain sufficient Religious exemptions. Every Religious individual, institution, organization and society is at risk of being sued for Civil Rights discrimination, losing their Property Tax exemptions and facing severe penalties. The Religious liberties of any faith based individual will be at risk for failure to comply with this Bill.

Third, if the Legislature is so convinced that this is an issue that requires a new law, place it on the ballot through a State wide referendum and let the voters decide.

Please call your State Senator to voice your opposition to S-1967. Even if your Legislator is a considered to be a certain “Yes”  or “No” vote, they should still be called to let them know the will of their constituents. 1. Excellent article.

    The author successfully stresses
    the importance of understanding the
    unpleasant consequences which can result
    from apathy about this issue.

  2. Call every elected official and offer him/her the following irrefutable argument:
Ask him/her if he/she agrees that incest is immoral and should not be afford the same protections under the law and be considered marriage. He/she will surely agree.
Ask him/her, “what’s the difference between incest and toieva unions? – Aren’t they both consenting adults!”
There is no answer to this question, other than incest is immoral as a judeo-christian value from time immemorial – and so is toieva.
If he/she balks – ask him/her to publicly state that incest between consenting adults should be afforded the same protections and be considered marriage as well.
Check mate! Even an atheist can’t beat this one!

  3. Kol Hakovod,
Rabbi Pruzansky is one of the Agudas group of rising stars in our community. He is smart, humble and a real Ben Torah. Follow his advice and lets create a kiddush Hashem.

  4. We seem to want it both ways. we vote them into office knowing were they stand on the issue, and then wonder why they vote that way. shame on us

  5. Send those politicians a strong
reminder that their job is to take
care of the economy and provide for
    law enforcement to protect citizens.

Why on earth are these clowns
    bickering about deviant same-gender
    partnerships? This is insanity.

    These politicians should start
listening to the majority of the
    electorate who are disgusted with
deviant fanatics who want to redefine
    and destroy normal marriage
    as an institution.

  6. Weinberg is the chief backer of the toeivah bill. She was on WNYC radio this morning promoting it.

The toeivah crowd are trying to intimidate people to support their shmutz bill with strong arm tactics, such as gathering huge numbers of people at the legislative chambers to speak for it and making much noise. They did the same in NY. This after they prepared the ground with their propaganda for it in recent years, by claiming that it is about rights, equality, fairness, etc.

The decent people must stand up and say no to toeivah terrorism. Tell them to take their shmutz bill and eat it.

Their bill is not about rights and equality. It is about trashing millenia of tradition, rebelling against G-d, and getting special status for their abomination. Why is polygamy banned? Maybe that should be allowed too? They want special status for their toeivah, that’s it.
