uri-lupolianskyFormer Yerushalayim Mayor Uri Lupolianski was hospitalized last night on the eve of his being sentenced for his role in the Holyland corruption case, Arutz 7 reported. Lupolianski’s attorneys asked Tel Aviv District Court Judge David Rosen to pronounce the sentence in Lupolianski’s absence.

The sentencing of both Lupolianski and co-defendant Avraham Feiner was delayed, relative to that of other defendants, because of medical conditions. The court wants to determine their medical ability to do prison time or community service, Arutz 7 reported.  Another mitigating factor in the sentencing may be that the defendants did not benefit directly from bribes but the money was contributed to Lupolianski’s Yad Sarah charity and Feiner’s Beit Malka charity.
