U.S. Could Hit Boko If They Join ISIS

While testifying before the Senate on Wednesday about the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) the White House wants for its fight against ISIS, Defense Secretary Ash Carter admitted that the authorization “can be interpreted” to included the Nigerian group Boko Haram.

The reasoning appears to be that the AUMF would cover any ISIS-affiliated group that threatens American national security.
