Vice President Joe Biden Embraces Health Care Bill Signing With Profane Term

bidenLeave it to Vice President Joe Biden to add a little, ahem, flair to the signing of a health care bill affecting millions of people. Biden used profanity in conversation with President Barack Obama after Obama introducing him at today’s ceremony at the White House.Biden appeared to be offering that perspective to Obama privately, but his remark was captured on audio and video.

The episode quickly got buzz on the Internet.

Biden has a reputation of verbal slips, and he knows it.

The White House response to this one? Embrace it.

“And yes Mr. Vice President, you’re right,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said in a post, or “tweet,” on Twitter, the social networking site.

  1. You know what HoRav Boruch Ber said, “shelo asani goy – afilu the President!” Can we say “kol shekain” the vice president?

  2. This is completely unacceptable. It was a nationally televised program which has children watching it. If an entertainer used profanity on air everyone would be screaming for an apology. This is no different.
Besides for the fact that a public official, especially one as high as the vice president, has the responsibility to be better then everyone else. He is held to a higher standard. It comes with the territory. It is an insult to the American people that the administration thinks that everything is a joke. Pathetic!!!

  3. I believe former Vice President Dick Cheney used the same word, and not in a “hurrah” kind of way. It was that time he told Senator Patrick Leahey.

Personally, I’d rather somebody says it in a yahoo way than in a nasty way, but that’s just me.

  4. Watch the tape. I watched it a few times at full volume after being told what was said and I could barely make it out. I defy you to stick a child in front of the tv who could make it out.

Stop trying to find things to complain about. Really. Grow up. Dick Cheney publicly admitted he said that to peoples’ faces on the capital. Look it up. Were you whining about schoolchildren then?
