[Video below.] Video released Wednesday shows at least 10 Philadelphia cops violently beating a black man they stopped for riding the wrong way on his bike.
A blogger who released the video says the incident occurred when 22-year-old Tyree Carroll was stopped for riding the wrong way, but court records show Carroll is being held on drug-related charges.
The video shows officers repeatedly shouting “tase him” and “On your back!”
It’s not clear from the footage whether a Taser was used on Carroll, who was already on the ground.
One of the cops claimed that Carroll bit him during the arrest. A Philly police spokesman said the department are working to identify the officers seen hitting the man in footage of the April 3 arrest. Read more at Philadelphia Magazine.
