Around 46,000 passengers were stranded at Guangzhou Railway Station this past week, as a large number of trains were delayed due to the slushy weather.
In the following aerial shot, passengers are seen walking very slowly – they were on their way to reunite with their families for the annual Spring Festival.
To cope with the demand, Guangzhou Railway Group arranged eight extra high-speed trains, easing almost 10,000 passengers from Guangzhou Railway Station. An estimated 20,000 passengers were left to wait for additional trains.
16 temporary canopies were set up outside the station to facilitate the stranded passengers.
