[Video and photos below.] At 6-foot-5, Bill de Blasio is the tallest New York City mayor of the modern era – and possibly of all time.
And on the first night of Chanukah last night, the recently-elected Mayor lit the world’s tallest Menorah in front of a large crowd at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn.
The giant Menorah, on display at the entrance to Prospect Park, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, of purity over adulteration, of spirituality over materiality.
Despite the rainy weather, a large crowd was in attendance, enjoying live music, doughnuts and gifts for the children distributed by the Mayor.
The lighting of the “World’s Largest Menorah” takes place at Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza every night of Chanukah at 6:00 PM.
