[Video below.] Yesterday, the campers and staff members of Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha paid a visit to Times Square in the heart of New York City. Together, the hundreds of campers and counselors sang and danced, bringing life and happiness to Manhattan at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. The song in the video below is “Waving Flag.”
Camp Simcha is an oasis of fun, friendship, love, and hope for children living with cancer and other blood-related illnesses. Located on the 125-acre Jack and Moishe Horn Campus in Glen Spey, New York, Camp Simcha offers children and teens, ages 5 – 20, the chance to forget about illness and concentrate on being normal. They can share their hopes, fears and triumphs with friends, or just forget about illness for a while. Campers are lavished with love in a positive environment that imbues them with the confidence and fortitude they need to navigate the forthcoming year’s trials.
