ou-webcast-rav-belsky-rav-schachter[Video below.] In this special video presentation, the Poskim for OU Kashrus, HaRav Chaim Yisroel Belsky, Rosh Yeshiva, Yeshiva Torah Vodaath, Brooklyn, NY, and HaRav Herschel Schachter, Rosh Yeshiva, Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchok Elchanon, New York, answer questions about Jewish medical ethics. They address such issues as: Do medicines have kashrus issues? Can one break Shabbos for a broken limb? Can a Kohen perform CPR on someone who’s clinically dead? Is being sick always a call to repent? Are there sick people for whose death one should pray? Tune in, and be enlightened by two of the great sages of our generation.

And by popular demand, a segment of the webcast was devoted to questions raised by the catastrophic devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy.

This webcast was recorded live at OU headquarters in New York on December 4, 2012.

  1. A wonderful video, thanks for making it available to the public, we are very lucky to have these great Rabbis who are realistic and have great compassion for our brothers and sisters who are suffering the aftermath of the storm.
