[Video in English below.] Last night, an atzeres zikaron to mark the shloshim of Harav Yitzchok Karpf was held in Lakewood. Harav Karpf, a son-in-law of Rav Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz zt”l and a talmid of Rav Shlomo Heiman zt”l in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, served as a maggid shiur in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and in Mesivta Bais Shraga of Monsey. The speakers included Rav Aharon Dovid Willner, R”M in Mesivta Bais Shraga; Rav Zev Smith, maggid shiur for Irgun Shiurei Toraha; and Rav Nochum Gold, longtime talmid of Rav Karpf. The final speaker of the evening, was Harav Yitzchok Sheiner, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kamenitz in Yerushalayim and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah in Eretz Yisroel. Harav Scheiner spoke candidly about his relationship with Rav Karpf, saying that he “owes everything” he is to Rav Karpf. Rav Scheiner’s remarks were delivered in English, and the crowd hung on to every word during the moving hesped.
