  1. i don’t whether it was so wise to show it to the “ministry of antiquities”. i once heard (but i don’t know how accurate it is) that any “antiquities” (such as coins, etc) that are found by the general public in the state of israel automatically belong to the state and one has no legal right to keep it. maybe she just should have kept quiet about it. after all, it is gold and probably worth a nice amount. i wonder—did the ministry of antiquities compensate her for this find?
