chavrei-hakollel-dinner[Video and photos below.] Last night Chavrei Hakollel of Lakewood held its annual dinner at Lake Terrace Hall. The evening paid tribute to the generous visionary supporters who have stood behind Chavrei Hakollel since its inception and remain committed to its future. The annual dinner was an opportunity for the entire tzibbur to participate in the vital work of Chavrei Hakollel and to earn a share in its overwhelming success.

The guest of honor was Steven Pfeffer Esq. of Harmony Bank. Steven is a true friend and supporter of the Kollel, and shares the vision of providing a yeshiva bochur with the opportunity to grow in learning while gaining the skills necessary to earn a parnassah.

State Senator Robert W. Singer was honored with the Community Service Award. The Senator has taken a leadership role in providing alternative educational opportunities in Lakewood by establishing The Robert W. Singer Vocational Institute. The Vocational Institute will address the immediate employment needs of Lakewood’s growing community through job training and education.

Moshe Oiknine received the Avodas Hakodesh Award. His selfless dedication and devotion to the boys of Chavrei Hakollel is crucial to the outreach and care that each and every neshama in Klal Yisroel deserves.

Ari Dobkin accepted the Alumnus of the Year Award. Ari has demonstrated his leadership qualities as the program director for Kids of Courage over the past few years.

Rav Moshe Tuvia Leiff, mara d’asra of Agudas Yisroel Bais Binyamin, served as the guest speaker. Of course, during his fantastic drasha, he made mention of the one-and-only Mosey Kaplan, a special member of the staff of the kollel. (Though our videographer missed that portion of the speech. Sorry, Mosey.)
