[Video and photos below.] Rav Nechemya Kaplan, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Shaar Hatalmud in Yerushalayim and one of the leading young roshei yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel, is currently visiting the United States. Rav Nechemya is renowned for his yedios haTorah, his lucid shiurim, his penetrating shmuessen, and his warm and caring personality. Yeshivas Shaar Hatalmud is one of the most popular destinations for American bochurim learning in Eretz Yisroel.
During his current visit, Rav Nechemya visited Lakewood, NJ, where a large number of his alumni reside and learn. Thursday night, Rav Nechemya delivered a shiur at Bais Medrash Kehillos Yisroel in Lakewood.
Last night, a reception for Yeshiva Shaar Hatalmud was held at Khal Zichron Shneur in Lakewood and was attended by a large crowd of parents and talmidim. Rav Nechemya addressed the gathering, and, in his inimitable manner and clarity, analyzed the inyanim of Olam Hazeh and Olam Habah, weaving together Gemaros, Rishonim and mayselech to the delight of the crowd. The attendees then had the opportunity to greet Rav Nechemya personally.
Rav Nechemya is a son of the renowned Torah pioneers in America in the last century, Rav Boruch and Rebbetzin Vichna Kaplan zt”l. He is a son-in-law of Rav Dovid Soloveitchik, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Brisk in Yerushalayim and son of the Brisker Rov.
