rav-finkel-lakewood-40[Video and photos below.] As reported earlier here on Matzav.com, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, venerable rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir-Yerushalayim, arrived in the United States this morning. He first traveled to Lakewood, NJ, where he davened Shacharis at Khal Ateres Yeshaya, led by Rav Simcha Bunim Cohen.

Shortly after 1 p.m., Rav Finkel arrived at Beth Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, where he was greeted by the four roshei yeshiva of BMG at the offices of Rabbi Aaron Kotler, CEO of BMG. Rav Finkel than delivered divrei chizuk to thousands gathered at the Israel Henry Beren Hall of the yeshiva. Rav Finkel then led the massive assemblage in the recital of two kappitlach of Tehillim and davened Minchah with the yeshiva.

Rav Finkel was accompanied, as usual, by Rav Binyomin Carlebach, close confidante of Rav Finkel and R”M at Mir-Yerushalayim, who travels with Rav Finkel on his overseas trips.

This evening, Rav Finkel is slated to attend the wedding of a daughter of noted Torah supporter Reb Yossi Stern of Edison, NJ.

Among his various visits and stops during his visit to the Tri-State area, Rav Finkel will attend and address a gathering for talmidim at the Renaissance Hall in Boro Park next week.

  1. Rav Binyamin Carlebach shlita I believe is a Rosh Yeshiva in the Mir himself as well as being a shvugger of the Rosh Hayeshiva shlita.

  2. Rav Binyomin Carlebach is a gaon nifla who, like Rav Nosson Zvi Finkel, is a son-in-law of Rav Beineish Finkel Zt’l. It is a tremendous kiddush shem shamayim to see how Rav Binyomin -along with the other great gaonim of the Mirrer family- is mevatel himself to his shogger and gives the world the impression that he himself is but an aide to the Rosh Yeshiva when in fact he is also a Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir.

Perhaps this is the reason why this great makom Torah has been privileged to serve as one of the largest centers of Torah learning for 150 years; it is the Torah that is important and not the kavod of the individuals entrusted with guiding the Yeshiva.

  3. The rosh yeshiva is returning late tuesday night back to boro park .SHACHARIS is open to the public wednesday august 25th thursday and friday 7;45 AM at thier host mendy horowicz
