Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva of Philadelphia, who is currently in Eretz Yisroel for his grandson’s wedding, visited Rav Bentzion Hakohen Kook, head of Bais Hora’ah Haklali of Yerushalayim.
During the visit, Rav Shmuel received Rav Kook’s new sefer ,’Tziyunei Halacha,’ on hilchos aveilus, which includes thousands of p’sokim that Rav Kook heard from his rebbi, Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt”l.
Rav Shmuel asked few questions about rav Elyashiv’s p’sokim on several issues, especially regarding the second day of Yom Tov for yungeleit from chutz la’arez who come to Eretz Yisroel for few years and plan to return to the Diaspora. Rav Kook said that Rav Elyashiv’s opinion was that if they intend to go back after 10 years, it is as if they are not going back, and they should keep just one day of Yom Tov.
Rav Shmuel also met his cousin, Rav Kook’s father-in-law, Rav Yitzchok Grodzenki, rosh kollel of Kollel Toras Avrohom of Bnei Brak, who is presently staying with Rav Kook.
Rav Shmuel visit also featured the participation of his brother, Rav Nosson Kamenetsky, who lives in Yerushalayim.
