rav-yecheskel-roth-in-lakewood[Video and photos below.] Harav Yecheskel Roth, Karlsburger Rov, traveled last night from Boro Park to Lakewood for a reception at the home of Reb Mendel Fishman on Ivory Court on behalf of the Karlsburger Bais Horaah. Those in attendance joined the Rov for Maariv and the Rov then met with people privately, giving brachos and answering shailos. In the video below, Rav Roth is seen greeting petitioners, as well as talking in learning with Harav Aharon Walkin, rosh hayeshiva of Yeshiva Ohel Simcha in Queens, NY, who resides in West Gate, Lakewood. The topic of their discussion was klei zemer vs. klei shirah in regard to the yemei hasfirah and the custom of refraining fromlistening to music during this period when the 24,000 talmidim of Rabi Akiva perished. Rav Walkin asked Rav Roth what the difference between klei zemer and klei shirah.

Many of Lakewood’s well-known poskim have received shimush from Rav Roth.
