TERROR IN TEL AVIV: 4 Killed, 5 Badly Injured in Shooting At The Sarona Market (Videos, Photos)

Two terrorists, said to be dressed as chareidim, carried out a terror attack at the Sarona Market in Tel Aviv this evening. A bag of knives and a cache of ammunition were found in their possession.

Nine people were wounded in the incident, one of them critically.

The Sarona Market is the largest indoor culinary market in Israel.

One of the gunmen was shot by police and then detained on Ha’arba’ah Street.

A third terrorist may be on the loose, police say.

Update, 9:55 p.m. IL: Two of the victims are said to be unconscious. The others are in moderate-to-serious condition. They were taken to nearby Ichilov Medical Center.

Update, 10:14 p.m. IL: One of the victims has succumbed to his wounds, according to paramedics at the scene.

Update, 10:22 p.m. IL: Two gunmen were involved in the attack, police say. One shooting took place inside the Sarona Market, while a second one took place on Ha’arba’ah Street. Both assailants were shot and detained.

Update, 10:29 p.m.: Reports of a third gunman who escaped are still unconfirmed. Police are deployed on all surrounding streets.

Update, 10:34 IL: Three people have passed away from their wounds sustained in the terror attack. Boruch Dayan Ha’emes. At least five of wounded were hurt seriously.

Update, 10:39 p.m. IL: Sarona Market has 93,000 square feet of market space, with 91 stores. Security there has been a concern in the past.

Update, 10:50 p.m. IL: Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu is currently returning from Moscow. He is expected to head straight to Tel Aviv, to IDF headquarters not far from Sarona.

Update, 12:22 a.m. IL: The death toll has risen to four, as another victim has succumbed.
