storobin-2[Video and photos below.] State Sen. David Storobin, a Republican from Brooklyn, was sworn in on Monday in the Senate chamber in Albany. Storobin narrowly won the 27th District, which will no longer exist come January and was formerly represented by Carl Kruger, a Democrat who resigned and pleaded guilty to corruption charges.
More than two months after the voters cast their ballots in the race to replace Carl Kruger in the State Senate, Storobin won on Thursday when Lew Fidler conceded the race while maintaining that he felt Mr. Storobin’s campaign should not have won under New York State election law.

Storobin, was visibly moved by the applause of the gallery and colleagues in the Senate chamber after he was sworn in. he was joined by his mother Anna and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos.
