mendy-shemtov-uruguay[Video below.] Rabbi Mendy Shemtov of Uruguay was invited to be filmed during a 10-hour walk through the streets and parks of Montevideo, Uruguay. There were nothing but positive responses during his trek, along with some friendly curiosity from passersby who had never met a rabbi before.

Proving that some people actually like positive news, the Spanish-language version of the video has been downloaded more than 30,000 times in the 24 hours since it was posted, and has been the subject of newspaper stories and TV spots in South America.

Here is the short video with excerpts from his day:

  1. Oh-kay! As during the Inquisition, let’s go to South America. P.S. Kol Hakavod to the rabbi AND Kol Hakavod to the Rebbetzin who is apparently wearing a sheitel, which is possibly the warmest type of head covering that exists.

  2. Again. What is Matzav.com’s obsession with everything Chabad does? I’m not saying there is anything wrong. I’m just wondering why the sudden change in policy.

  3. Its official now MATZAV
    has converted to Chabad Judaism.

you can visit their office at 770 in crown heights. news will be updated every hour.

  4. to those above that lack understanding for what is going on…… this is not about chabad! Is a documentary done by the Uruguayan government to prove that Uruguay is a free and tolerant nation. Additionally we are all Jews including Chabad stop fragmenting Jews!!!

Get the point and get the message!
