[Video below.] Last night, Rav Elya Ber Wachtfogel, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Moshe of South Fallsburg, delivered a drasha at an event to benefit Yeshiva Medrash Chaim of Lakewood, which is under the leadership of its rosh yeshiva, Rav Rephael Moshe Gettinger, and its rosh mesivta, Rav Sholom Gray. Rav Wachtfogel focused on the inyan of teshuvah, explaining with great clarity why people often fail to achieve full repentance. The South Fallsburg rosh yeshiva said that most times, a person will focus on repenting for specific aveiros without uprooting the shoresh, the source, of why he is engaging in such behavior.
The powerful words of hisorerus from Rav Wachtfogel left the gathered crowd inspired to work harder on the avodah of the month of Elul, teshuvah.
The event was the second annual Lakewood parlor meeting for Yeshiva Medrash Chaim of Lakewood and was held at the yeshiva campus on Regent Drive in Lakewood.
The event was also addressed by Rav Yeruchem Olshin, rosh yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha.
