rav-shlomo-miller[Video below.] The following video was taken at a Simchas Bais Hashoeivah last night in Toronto with Rav Shlomo Miller, rosh kollel of Kollel Avreichim of Toronto. Rav Miller, who is one of the gedolei haposkim of North America, also heads the Bais Horaah of Lakewood.

  1. Rabbi Miller could have had many more people. They just don’t let any Son-in-Laws from here, to come to Toronto, due to their terrible Shidduchim Crisis.
    Lets hope it helps.

    Many of our K’hillah here in Toronto feel, that we must change the perception of the NY Bochrum. Right now they think that marrying to Toronto translates into a commitment of having to travel to Canada, 11 hours, three or four times a year for the next fifteen years.

    The problem with Toronto, is the lack of Kollelim there. Rav Miller’s Kollel is for the uber-elite, and being in Ner Yisroel didn’t work. (I tried both Kollelim about 6-7 years ago.) Perhaps now there are more options (like the new Thornhill Kollel).

    Ner Yisroel could have been the new Lakewood – they had a massive amount of land that could have been built for the frum community had there been the need there. There are now many thousands of new home, 95% of which are occupied by non frum and non Jews.
