[Video below.] Damon Weaver, a soon-to-be-6th grader who has spent months lobbying for an interview with President Obama, finally got his wish at the White House yesterday. The White House announced mid-evening that Obama had informed Weaver he intends to give a back-to-school speech on education on September 8. The youthful reporter interviewed then-candidate Joe Biden in Florida last year and had been trying to get an interview with the president ever since.The White House notified reporters around 7 p.m. that Weaver finally landed an interview with the Prez.
“I’m going to be making a big speech to young people all across the country about the importance of education, the importance of staying in school, how we want to improve our education system, and why it’s so important for the country. And so I hope everybody tunes in,” Obama told Weaver.

I wonder if he would have given the interview to a white kid?? I think NOT!!
Exactly…. You THINK not…wonder if it would have made any difference or if you would still have something negative to say…
it’s not really about interviewing black kids, as rather preaching to the choir. He’s exploiting that kid for his political gain. If a white kid would give the president an opening to push his agenda, he might give them the interview.
To #2: if you know anything about politics- it says in Pirkei Avos- to be careful of the gov’t since they only use you for their own good. Things haven’t changed in 2000 years, although I would say Bush was a lot more emesdik than other presidents, and for Obama, he is the epitome of what Chazal said then in Pirkei Avos.
