rabbi-shafier[Videos below.] Rav Bentzion Shafier has impacted thousands of people with his talks and lectures, and especially with his innovative “Shmuz,” a mussar shmuess that draws on Torah, Gemara and the meforshim, but also brings in lessons from science, history and inspiring life stories of famous and not-so-famous individuals.   1. This is truly a great lesson. Can you imagine, if for the last 300 years the religious leadership would not have criticized the reform and conservative movements, but rather loved them and draw them near how much more unifies we would be. By waging war with them all we have accomplished is push them further away. All that we have done is created further polarization.

  2. Can you imagine, If for the past 300 years we would not have fought a war with the reform and conservative movements how much more unified clal yisrael would be. By attacking and criticizing all that we accomplished was pushing them further away. If we would have taken your advice there would have ben less polarization. Baruch She Kivantah

  3. One problem though is that Yaakov rebukes Shimon and Levi immediatly after their actions.
    Yet he is not afraid that they will run off to Eisav. Maybe, Reuven’s act was so repulsive, so blazenly a personal affront to Yaakov,that had Yaakov rebuked it would have been out of anger and resentment.
