Video: Whole Foods CEOs: We Overcharged in NYC

whole foodsWhole Foods’ CEOs apologized to customers Wednesday, after a recent investigation revealed the grocery chain was overcharging customers in New York City.

The company released a video vowing to fix the issue, admitting that a small percentage of fresh food was being weighed incorrectly.

“Straight up, we made some mistakes. We want to own that and tell you what we’re doing about it,” co-CEO Walter Robb said in the video.

Robb and co-CEO John Mackey also promised to boost staff training and establish a third-party auditing system to monitor progress. Customers can also ask their cashier to check weights, and if there’s a mistake, the item is free, the CEOs said. Read more.
