photo 3[Video below.] As reported earlier here on Matzav.com, five American Chassidishe yeshiva bochurim were attacked by a Palestinian mob throwing stones and Molotov cocktails when they got lost on their way to daven at the Meoras Hamachpeilah in Chevron.

Two of the five bochurim were slightly injured on their faces from the stones and broken glass. The bochurim were saved when a Palestinian resident of Chevron offered them shelter from the mob and called the police.

“I heard shouts outside, I left my house and saw the five Jews frantically leaving their car, which was attacked by stones,” Chevron resident Faiz Abu Hamadiah, 51, said.

LYNCH-CHEVRON

“One was injured and bleeding from his face. I calmed them down,” said Hamadiah. “I told them in Hebrew that it will be okay, I gave them water, and I helped the injured man. I told them they were safe in my house. Immediately afterward they called the police, and I sent teenagers to call the army to take them to the checkpoint.”

According to a spokesman for the Chevron Jewish community, the Israel Defense Forces used to have a checkpoint at the entryway to the Palestinian section of the city, but recently handed it over to Palestinian security forces.

  1. Chevron resident Faiz Abu Hamadiah should probably buy some life insurance. His family might be needing it, if “something” happens to him because he “aided the enemy”.

In any event, no good deed goes unrewarded by Hashem.

  2. #1, a basic course in self-defense would not help 5 bachurim being attacked by a mob with stones and Molotov cocktails, unfortunately. For that, all five of them would have had to be black belts in order for them to have even had a fighting chance.

As for the definition of lynch, here in EY the term “lynch” is used to describe any attack in which the plan is to outnumber and surround the target so that the attackers can then do with them what they please. So someone could survive it, and it would still be called a lynch here.
