Families suffer tremendously when a parent is diagnosed with a debilitating or terminal illness.Their normal home life is disrupted by numerous doctor’s appointments, a loss of income, and the caretaking abilities of the sick parent are often severely limited.Our goal at Chai4Ever is to lighten the impact of parental illness for the patient, the spouse, and the children by providing practical and emotional support for the whole family.These children need the break that summer camp provides, and the chance to laugh, run and play like “normal” children. Their parent’s catastrophic illness and the resulting financial distress leaves families unable to afford summer camp, just when it is needed most.
Camp4ever is their relief. Hundreds of children who have a sick mother or father are given a camp experience to remember. Days packed with excitement and nights full of support and camaraderie create a magical atmosphere in a warm and accepting environment. Our hand-picked and carefully trained staff encourage children to talk about their concerns and give them the security to take crucial steps towards confidence and inner strength.
