Videos, Photos: Rav Aharon Teitelbaum Visits Lakewood for Hachnosas Sefer Torah at Satmar Bais Medrash

[Videos and photos below.] Yesterday, the Satmar Bais Medrash of Lakewood, NJ, celebrated a Hachnosas Sefer Torah. Rav Aharon Teitelbaum of Satmar travelled from his home in Monroe, NY, to join in the celebration.

 The kesivas ha’osiyos took place in the early afternoon at the home of Reb Yisroel Welz. Rav Aharon Teitelbaum first visited the Welz home, where he wrote on ois in the Sefer Torah. He subsequently visited Rav Malkiel Kotler and Rav Dovid Schustal, roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha.

Following the completion of the writing, the Sefer Torah was danced, amidst lively singing, from the Sixth Street home of Rav Mordechai Bezalel Klein, Satmar Dayan of Lakewood, to a specially erected tent on Fifth Street, between Forest and Madison Avenues. The large crowd danced to the beautiful music of Rabbi Yehoshua Ausfresser and the singing of R’ Yechiel Fligman.

After the Sefer Torah arrived at the tent, Rav Aharon Teitelbaum danced with it as the large crowd gathered on surrounding bleachers. Rav Kotler and Rav Schustal both joined for a short while to dance with the Sefer Torah as well. Following the recital of Tehillim led by Rav Aharon, rabbonim and chashuvim filled the dais and the crowd broke out in lively singing.

After making a lechaim and distributing cake, Rav Aharon addressed the assemblage. In the evening, a seudah was held at the Esther Gerber Hall.
