I don’t really think that silechot is ment to be either a concert or a fund raiser.
I feel that many people who may not attend otherwise, would attend this slichos. it’s a good kiruv idea. I know a frum couple who went first to a slichos in a diff shul then to this one
And they shouldn’t call it Selichois. Call it what it is, a concert. The definition of Selichois, is beseeching Hashem for forgiveness and to be engaged in earnest Tefilah. No one there exhibited that in any which way. They were there for entertainment and happiness.
Nu, were the people in the video looking like they were getting closer to Hashem? I think so. I was, just watching it. So isn’t that the definition of teshuva?
