His wife Maureen was found guilty on eight of 11 charges, as well as obstruction of justice.

The McDonnells were charged with an 11-count federal indictment over accusations that they accepted more than $165,000 in gifts from wealthy vitamin executive Jonnie Williams, former CEO of dietary supplements maker Star Scientific Inc., in exchange for special favors.

Prosecutors alleged that McDonnell arranged meetings for Williams with state officials, allowed Williams to throw a luncheon at the governor’s mansion to launch a product, and let him decide the guest list at another mansion reception for healthcare leaders. Read more at The Washington Post.
