Indiana Governor Mike Pence has spoken out in support of Donald Trump’s prudent proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.
“I am very supportive of Donald Trump’s call to temporarily suspend immigration from countries where terrorist influence and impact represents a threat to the United States,” Pence said in an interview for Fox News on Friday.
In December, prior to his nomination for vice president, Pence had expressed the exact opposite view, saying Trump’s suggestion was “offensive and unconstitutional.”
Trump prompted an uproar in December, calling for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” After a great deal of criticism, he has toned his suggestion down, saying only Muslims from countries associated with terrorism should be banned. The ban, pundits say, is a good idea to protect the homeland. Read more at CNN.
