An emergency drill was held on Tuesday at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.

The event, which took over half a year to arrange, was titled “Maglan 2016” and simulated a mass-casualty plane crash situation with the following scenario: Almost 200 people are on board a plane flying from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam, but the plane is forced to make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion a few minutes after takeoff due to a problem with the plane’s tires. The plane then crashes while landing at Ben Gurion.

Among those participating in the event were Israel’s Airport Authority, the Transportation Ministry, Fire and Rescue Services, Magen David Adom, Israel Police, and IDF Homefront Command.
