-Communicated- If you only manage to eat ONE donut this Chanukah, then this should be it: Fried Ice Cream Sufganiyah from Seasons.

Makes 6
Ingredients for ice cream tempura:

12 pieces of soft sandwich white bread, crusts off
Favorite vanilla ice cream
Pancake batter mix, make according to directions
Oil for frying

Directions:
1. Cut crusts off bread. Put one scoop of ice cream in center of one bread
2. Cover the ice cream scoop with 2nd piece of bread and then mold bread to ice cream scoop until have a covered ice cream ball.
3. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least one hour or over night. Repeat with rest of bread and ice cream.
4. Dip your frozen ball into pancake batter and cover completely. Place gently into hot vegetable oil and fry for 2-3 minutes (flipping ball) just till all sides turn slightly golden.

Serve with hot cherry balsamic jelly
Hot cherry balsamic jelly sauce:
1 bag frozen cherries
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. Lime juice
1/2cup water

Place everything in a sauce pan and bring to a low simmer until the sugar dissolves and the liquid thickens.
