Independence Day in the United States is marked by the time-honored tradition of fireworks displays. Last night, the Lakewood, NJ, Township celebrated Independence Day with its annual fireworks show at Lake Carasaljo.

The fireworks display began at 9:15 p.m.

In recent years, many municipalities have opted out of hiring the pyro technicians on July 4th, booking them for July 2nd or 3rd instead. This change saves municipalities thousands of dollars.

The average fireworks show on July 4th costs Lakewood approximately $24,000. By having the exact same show one day earlier, the township paid only $12,000.

  1. Thanks for posting the video! I wanted to go but couldn’t because I my baby was sleeping, but now I feel like I was there.
