Watch: Lakewood Introduces New Police Chief

Lakewood, NJ – This afternoon, the township of Lakewood, NJ, welcomed its new police chief, Gregory Meyer, who has served as a police captain with the Lakewood Police Department for decades.

Meyer will assume the position currently held by Rob Lawson, who will be retiring come August, having reached the age of 65.

Meyer was introduced at a ceremony earlier today at Lakewood Town Hall on Fourth Street. The event featured remarks from Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, Police Department liaison. who introduced Meyer and also announced various promotions within the Police Department. Lichtenstein expressed particular appreciation to the families of police officers, who sacrifice on behalf of the community’s welfare.

  1. Why aren’t there frum policemen in Lakewood? There are lots of frum people who would want those 100k jobs with great pensions. If the majority of the town are frum, how come we are still discriminated against?
