  1. Correction: This is Rav Moshe Weinberger at Gruss Kollel in Israel, hosting 20 different yeshivas for a pre-purim farbrengen. Rabbi Weinberger is the Rav of Aish Kodesh and Woodmere and is the unofficial leader of a sweeping movement which is having ripple effects accross the spectrum of Orthodoxy, bringing the Torah’s depth to the fore through the teachings of Chassidus and p’nimiyus haTorah which lend themselves to building a personal, vibrant, and passionate relationship with Hashem. His upwards of 4 thousand shiurim may be found online at https://www.yutorah.org/sidebar/teacher.cfm/80208/rabbi-moshe-weinberger/.

  2. Why is Matzav running advertisements for YU and neo-Hasidic leaders like Rebbe Weinberger and his student Yaakov Klein today?

Those who want that YU fare can find it at YUTorah.org.

    • So interesting how nobody sees a video of the Belzer wedding as an advertisement for Belz or a video of the Agudah convention as an advertisement for Agudah or a video of Waterbury guys dancing in an airport as an advertisement for Wtaerbury. All of a sudden, when Matzav posts things that actually make you think, something which challenges our static Judaism, we freak out! Maybe if we would stay calm and actually do the research to look into what Rabbi Weinberger and yaakov Klein are all about and why they are so popular among younger Jews not only in Modox yeshivas but yeshivish places as well we would understand and be elevated too!

      • “All of a sudden, when Matzav posts things that actually make you think, something which challenges our static Judaism, we freak out!”

        Your words are quite offensive.

You imply that everything else on Matzav does not make people think, only the neo-Hasidic stuff.

  3. This is related to the Havakuk movement in Israel, which is popular among Dati-Leumi there, and has taken root among some of the related Modern Orthodox camp in the USA.

Havakuk = Habad, Breslov, (Rav) Kook, (singer Shlomo) Carlebach.

The Chareidi camp, on the other hand, has held back from embracing it.

    • Why does everyone have to jump to label everything? For once we have a movement whihc b”h defies all labels, the only tzad hashaveh between r weinberger’s talmidim being inward jews who really care about Hashem and want a relationship with Him and to make Him real in their lives. Leeave it! They are not “neo-chassidim” or “chabakkuk’s” they are simply Jews looking to reinvigorate yiddishkeit! Aside from which your last sentence is patently false – r’ wenberger is extremely close with many of the leading mashpiim and tzaddikim in EY such as r’ tzvi meir silberberg, r’ itche meir morgenstern, the amshinover rebbe, r’ yitzchak ginsburg etc. etc.

      • The fact is that Rabbi Moshe Weinberger of YU – Cong. Aish Kodesh of Woodmere is part of the Modern Orthodox world. Do not be fooled by his shtreimel and bekishe. He grew up in the YU world, got semicha there, and much of his following to this day is from the MO-YU-BT world.

      • “r’ wenberger is extremely close with ……r’ yitzchak ginsburg”

        R. Yitzhak Ginsburg is an extreme Lubavitcher who is revered by some of the extremist Dati Leumi.

That shows that Rebbe Weinberger is out of the mainstream.

Rebbe Weinberger is popular among some Dati-Leumi/Modern Orthodox/YU types.

Look at the audience at his events.

        Look at the video above.

Who is there? Modern Orthodox, Dati Leumi, BT..yes, some others too, but who is the main crowd?

Where are the events held? At Breslov, YU’s Gruss Kollel, Dati Leumi places.

      • “r weinberger’s talmidim … inward jews who really care about Hashem and want a relationship with Him and to make Him real in their lives.”

And no other Yidden are ‘inward Jews’, huh? No one else really cares about Hashem, wants a relationship with Him and wants to make Him real in their lives, only Rebbe Weinberger’s followers???!!!

The overwhelming majority of Yidden learning Torah and serving Hashem in mainstream mosdos, or as baalei batim, in Eretz Yisroel and elsewhere, are not part of Rebbe Weinberger’s Neo-Chasidic movement. So they are are all outward Jews then, not inward?

What nerve, what chutzpah, to make such an assertion.
