Work Hard, Play Hard: (VIDEOS) The Rechnitz Brothers Shoot Baskets for Bikur Cholim!

Famous askonim and philanthropists Shlomo Yehuda and Yisroel Rechnitz were videoed this week testing their basketball skills against two famous NBA basketball players, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The two generous Los Angeles natives fell short against the basketball professionals, losing to the NBA rookies 62-12.

The basketball game wasn’t all fun and games — the event was part of a tzedakah campaign called Hoops for Hope. The fundraiser was put together by the Rechnitz brothers to raise money for Ateres Avigayil, an organization created l’ilu nishmas the wife of R’ Yisroel Rechnitz A”H.

Ateres Avigayil is a Los Angeles based chesed organization that offers various medical services to the Jewish community, including meals, transportation, housing arrangements and medical referrals. Volunteers for the organization also coordinate hospital and home visits and a medical equipment g’mach is available as well.

  1. I love these guys. They just do good and do it with taam and flavor. Whether its a CD for tzeddaka that I love or some other cute creative way that helps us all appreciate the good around us. May you both and your families be gebenched!!!

  3. Very nice. The Rechnitz Brothers have to improve their defense a little. Otherwise it looked like fun was had by all and it was for a great cause. Hatzlacha raba.

  4. You know Lonzo is a bust when his best performance of the season comes against two outta shape, ultra-orthodox, former Yeshiva guys. But LaVar just announced that Lonzo will be singing on Shlomo Yehuda’s next CD.
