Ted Koppel today said he thinks Fox News host Sean Hannity is “bad for America.”
During a segment on CBS “Sunday Morning,” Hannity defended himself and told Koppel the American people need to be given some credit.
“We have to give some credit to the American people that they’re somewhat intelligent and that they know the difference between an opinion show and a news show,” Hannity said.
“You’re cynical,” he added.
Koppel conceded he was cynical, to which Hannity responded:”Do you think we’re bad for America? You think I’m bad for America?”
“Yeah,” Koppel responded. “In the long haul I think you and all these opinion shows” are.
Hannity told Koppel it was “sad” he felt that way.
“No, you know why? Because you’re very good at what you do,” Koppel said, adding, “You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.” Read more at THE HILL.

how sad that a leading media player like ted koppel seems to feel that facts are more important than ideology !!! is not democracy itself an ideology and if a majority or even a substantial minority feel stongly in an ideal -they should still be ignored if the “”facts”” say differently ???

Koppel is right. Vannity was very rude for interrupting Mr. Koppel. It shows that he has no respect for elderly people. Regardless of what you think about Ted, he was speaking nicely and pleasantly. There was no reason Mr. Vannity had to let his inflated ego get in the way. Vannity is a loudmouth Hush Bimbo wannabe. All he does is kvetch all day.
