  1. Really fascinating. My daughter ate a Shabbos meal by Nissims friend when she was in Seminary there, and Nissim stopped in and was michazaik the guests. He was very genuine. I wish him and his family hatzlacha in all their endeavors.

  2. What’s up with rapping? I sound clueless bc I am, but this is furthest away from Judaism, isn’t it???

    Please explain

    • Correct. It’s as Jewish as those modern “Jewish music” taken from non-Jewish sources, like “mishe-mishe-mishe-mishe-nichnas-adar” from “pick a bale of cotton”. Nobody can deny anymore that Gedolei yisroel were right when they said that listening to non-Jewish songs is harmful for the soul.

      • Klezmer goes back to har Sinai? And we all know jazz was invented 2500
years ago. How else would jewish music have 1920s jazz!

    • Music can be used for good or evil. Rap has almost always been used for evil, so it has a reputation of being as you say “far from Judaism”. But it’s not b’etzem evil, it’s just been used that way. The forms of music we listen to have also been used for bad things, but it doesn’t pasul the musical form itsself.

  3. wrap music does not belong in a jewish home or in the frum torah community, it comes straight from the goyish world with just the words changed to hebrew words etc… different kinds of goyish music from rock to wrap etc… have different effects on a persons neshama & the way he reacts to different things in life. When we were children this kind of music was not allowed in a torah frum home cause this is called goyish music with a goyish TAAM straight from the goyim & very bad for a frum yid

come back to Hashem by removing this from your torah homes

    • And who are you to say what appropriate and what’s not. If you don’t think its for your home don’t listen . My personal opinion is you have to look at the whole picture. The tune the words the composer the singer. In this case I think R. Nissim brought this type of music up a level. There was an Rebbe who called the hora dance Ha – RA (the evil yet I see many choshuva people dancing to it. again it comes down to who and how its played.

  4. A note of caution should be given before one watches the video, as there are things shown that are not tznius and appropriate.

  5. Rabbosai, ALL forms of music come from the goyishe world, including the classic tunes we use for lecha dodi and keil adon. You think marches and all the other forms of music that we use were invented by Yidden? They weren’t. All FORMS of music are really goyish, it’s just older goyish vs. newer goyish. So ‘goyish’ doesn’t passul. If you want to say it’s having a bad effect on your neshama, that’s something else, but you can’t say it’s bad simply because it’s from the goyim, because then you’re passuling all Jewish music, even what you consider eidel and kusher forms of music. That being said, I’m surprised this video was shown here – there’s a part that’s extremely not tzniusdik.
