The National Park Service is expected to approve new spikes for the White House fence at a meeting Thursday, according to documents obtained by NBC Washington.

The move is an apparent attempt to combat the recent scourge of White House fence jumpers, and the spikes will remain on the current fence until a replacement fence is built next year. The final decision for the spikes then goes to U.S. Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission. Read more at NBC Washington.
