lazarDear Matzav.com Readers:

It’s very simple why you should vote. It’s in your self-interest to do so. If you don’t vote, your family gets less money for yeshivas, less money for senior centers, less money for all of our government programs, and, most dangerous of all, less money for our life-saving emergency services.

As many of you know, I am an expert in government budgets. What that means is that I’ve spent my career uncovering the wasteful spending loaded in our City and State budgets and gotten rid of it to save you money. That’s just what I’m going to keep doing as your City Councilman so you don’t have to pay higher taxes, excessive parking tickets and fines, or get cheated out of any of the government services you deserve for your hard-earned money.

It’s so important that you come out and vote on Tuesday, March 23rd for Joe Lazar because the political reality is that in New York City the communities that vote the most get the most money in government services and suffer the least from budget cutbacks. In this time of economic crisis, we can’t afford not to raise our voice in defense of all the government services we are in real danger of losing right now.

I’m not making any promises I can’t keep. The fact is that being an effective elected official all comes down to experience. A politician can’t fix what he doesn’t understand. After decades of public service, I understand our City’s finances as well as anyone. In these desperate economic times, we can’t settle for anyone who is going to need years of on-the-job training to figure out our complicated system. As your Councilman, I’ll be ready to lead from my very first day in City Hall.

So, please, for the sake of your family’s future and the future of our entire community, come out to vote for me, Joe Lazar, for City Council on Tuesday, March 23rd. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and it doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat, a Republican or an independent. Everyone can vote in the Special Election today. Everyone can do their part to help our community.

Thank you for all your support these past seven weeks and thank you for coming out to vote today. Your vote today is more important than ever. I will work every day as hard as I can to make you proud.

Sincerely,
Joe Lazar
City Council Candidate

  1. Sorry Joe, you blew it!

Your negative campaigning and topping it off with the endorsement of the anti-Frum Teachers Union, made me vote for someone that had integrity throughout his entire campaign. You guessed his name – David Greenfield!

  2. Thanks Joe, Imyh you will have hatzlacha today & be a shliach tzibur for our comunity in the city council as you’ve been there for all of us for many years.

You read something on a blog quoting “anonymous” and that’s what your basing your vote on?? And your going to vote for the person who owes favors to Bloomberg, Koch, and Lieberman ALL BIG TIME supporters of “hashchasa”?!?!?!? thats being “Pro”- Frum?!?!?!

I’m going to vote for the one that all the Roshei Hayeshivas say to vote for, and not base my vote on things I read on biased blogs that can’t even quote somebody.

  5. I just voted for Greenfield. I have yet to hear any Rebbe or Rosh Yeshivah say vote for Lazar. If you are pro Lazar you might NOT want to ask Rebbes and Roshei Yeshivah who THEY support…

  6. MO is for Greenface. Yeshivishe, & Chasidish r voting for Joe Lazar! Ratio: 74%-11% & 25% not voting. In other words: victory for Joe Lazar!!!
