Brooklyn, NY – An 18-year-old man was killed in Brooklyn on Shabbos morning after being struck by the compactor of a privately owned garbage truck, the police said.
A police official said that the man, Luis Camarillo of the Bronx, was standing at the rear of a truck that had been loaded with recycled paper. A second worker was behind the steering wheel of the truck, which was parked inside a brick building at 135 Plymouth Street, the police said, in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge and about a block from the East River.
