megillahThe largest megillah in the world was completed right before Purim in Bnei Brak. The megillah measures 72 centimeters (28.3 inches) high and was written in lettering prescribed by the Baal Hatanya, Rav Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812).

The megillah was written by a renowned sofer who invested more than a full year in finding the largest parchments possible. The megillah is for sale at the price of 18,000 Israeli Shekels ($5,065.00).

  1. Just to note. The picture of the Megilla in the story is NOT the one just written. Based on the lettering of Aseres Bnei Haman I can see that it does not conform to the Ba’al HaTanya’s shita.
