Every year, Issa Kassissieh, a Christian Arab from Yerushalayim’s Old City, distributes free Xmas trees on behalf of the Yerushalayim Municipality to the capital’s Christians before the Xmas holiday.
Ringing his golden bell and humming a seasonal song, Issa has become a well-known figure, for both the local residents and visiting Christians who come to get their cypress trees.
“I’ve been the Jerusalem Santa for 12 years,” Kassissieh told Tazpit Press Service.
This year, Kassissieh distributed around 230 Xmas trees at Shaar Yaffo of the Old City. “The trees have been great this year, better than last,” he noted.

The “X” is just as bad as writing out the full name of the holiday. Just learned it. I know refer to it as “zmas”.
