tvTonight, Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Mishpatim, Yeshiva Torah Vodaath will once again feature a unique evening of chinuch and recognition at the Ohr Hachaim Vishnitz Hall in Boro Park. Building on the success of last year’s innovative program, an informative and exciting new format for the evening has been planned. The evening will focus on the tremendous accomplishments consistently achieved by the yeshiva with a special focus on the Yeshiva Ketanah. Several esteemed honorees, all parents of students in the Yeshiva Ketanah division, will be conferred awards in deserved recognition of their individual accomplishments and steadfast dedication to the Yeshiva, Klal Yisroel, and their respective communities. Executive Director of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Yitzchok Gottdiener, shares that, to keep the presentations brief and focused, remarks have been pre-recorded.

Rabbi and Mrs. Yisroel Jungreis, well-known and respected members of the Flatbush community, will receive the V’Shinantam L’vanecha Hakaras Ha’tov award. Rabbi Yisroel is closely affiliated with the famous Hineni Organization, headed by his illustrious mother, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis, popular Jewish Press columnist. Mrs. Rivki Jungreis is a well-known therapist serving children in our community. They are grateful to Yeshiva Torah Vodaath for the wonderful chinuch their children receive.

Mr. and Mrs. Yehoshua Nadler, Parents of the Year, have been part of Torah Vodaath for generations as both of their fathers were also talmidim at the Yeshiva. Yehoshua is the assistant director of finance in the prestigious Albert Einstein Medical School and treasurer of Congregation Ohr Gedalyahu, the Torah Vodaath Minyan in Flatbush.

Dr. and Mrs. Mordechai Eisenberger, Ahavas Torah V’Chesed awardees, also trace their Torah Vodaath roots back for generations. A graduate of the NYU College of Dentistry, Dr. Mordechai serves the Flatbush community professionally, but always makes time for the klal. Mrs. Mikki Eisenberger is also involved in klal work following in the derech of her renowned parents, R’ Nutti and Chavie Diamond.

Mr. and Mrs. Eli Kriger, Machzikei Torah awardees, have demonstrated personally what it means to be devoted to Torah. An alumnus of the Mesivta, he continued to learn full-time in kollel until well after their mishpachah had been established. They are active mispallelim at Kollel Bnei Torah under the leadership of Rabbi Yosef Eisen, another Torah Vodaath talmid. They are the proud parents of three wonderful boys at the Yeshiva.

A special tribute will be held in the memory of Rav Shmuel Yaakov Traube, zt”l, commemorating a yovel (jubilee) of years of Harbatzas HaTorah in the yeshiva. A faithful Gerer Chassid, Rabbi Traube survived the Gehenom of the Holocaust and arrived at Torah Vodaath single, alone, and penniless. His lomdus earned him a permanent place in the Beis Medrash where he served as a rosh yeshiva for close to 50 years.

From the beginning, he could relate to students what others could not, because his warm heart communicated with theirs. Generations of talmidim appreciated him and saw how one person could bring to life the Torah and Chassidus of pre-war Europe.

There will be a special address focusing on chinuch in the home, the Yeshiva Torah Vodaath Choir will perform, and a well-planned program will be presented. Parents, grandparents, alumni, friends and supporters, are urged to join together on Motzaei Shabbos Parshas Mishpatim, at the Vishnitz Hall at 1824 53rd Street in Boro Park, for what promises to be an inspiring and memorable evening in support of this vibrant Mossad Torah. A special commemorative journal will be published. For more information, please contact the Yeshiva, 718-941-8000.
