The stabbing came after an altercation, according to reports, between an Arab and the Jew. The Arab reportedly stabbed the Jew and then fled the scene.

The incident occurred at a hostel located on Rechov Tzefania. The multiple wounds proved to be fatal.

Police are investigating the cause and nature of the attack, though, according to Ladaat.net, it does not appear to be terror-related.

Update, 5:55 a.m. IL: The man who murdered was 50 years old. An initial police investigation revealed that the victim, who was staying at the hostel in geulah, was stabbed by a 23-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank at about 9:30 p.m. The two had reportedly been arguing since morning hours and the dispute boiled over in the evening when the Palestinian, who works at the hostel, allegedly stabbed the man in the back, chest and abdomen, multiple times. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man for 40 minutes, but failed. There was a substantial amount of blood at the scene, on the walls and floor, according to a paramedic at the scene.

The suspect, who fled the scene, has been apprehended by Border Guard officers operating north of Yerushalayim.
