buzz-boro-parkAssemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) offered his heartfelt appreciation to “The Buzz,” a major electronics store with locations in Boro Park and Midwood, who is offering free smoke detectors following the tragedy in Midwood on Shabbos that claimed the lives of seven children.

Beginning tomorrow, residents of the community can come in during regular store hours for their free smoke detectors. The stores will be giving away one unit per household while supplies last.

“Smoke detectors save lives,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “It’s as simple as that. Everyone owes it to themselves and their families to have working smoke detectors properly installed with fresh batteries. My sincere thanks to our friends and neighbors at the Buzz for taking care of community members’ needs. I also applaud all of the businesses and individuals who have reached out to us in an effort to help others following this terrible tragedy.”

The Buzz is located at 1314 50th St. in Boro Park, and at 1402 Coney Island Ave, in Midwood.
