rfr-protest-kevorim[Video and photos below.] Over 13,000 Yidden gathered outside RFR’s Manhattan headquarters yesterday to protest RFR’s desecration of ancient kevorim in Israel with its construction project to build a luxury hotel in Yaffo. An estimated 175 rabbonim were at the center of the huge crowd which spanned several blocks on Manhattan’s tree-lined Park Avenue.

The crowd said Tehillim and listened to speeches by rabbonim and askonim, including Rabbi Moshe Dovid Niederman.

Aby Rosen, RFR’s owner, was singled out for his refusal to meet with any organizations and his refusal to even consider proposed alternative plans in order to preserve the ancient graves.

  1. It would be nice if the made the same effort to try to be mekarev our lost brothers and sisters.

That would much much more effective in stopping diggings.

  2. A rally against Israel has always been looked down upon. by the Gedolim of New York, particularly the Posak haDor, Reb Moshe Feinstein ztz”l.

  3. Wow, this was a massive kiddish shem shmayim! I wish I knew of it beofrehand so I could attend.

We should all protest these reshoyim destroying our kevorim.

  4. Your figure of 13,000 seems way off, a great exaggeration. It is a lot higher than was reported elsewhere.

I wonder where you got the number from. Granted, it is not so simple to get the number of a large crowd, but reasonable estimates can be made. One way to do some is to count the amount of people in part of the area, say a quarter of a block, and then multiply it by the amount of such sections the protest fills up. Now, since this one reportedly took up four blocks app., and only one side/part of the street, the figure you give doesn’t work out, by far.

If you want to have some credibility, you should correct and it and be more careful in the future.
