Extremist Lev Tahor cult member Michoel Goldman has acknowledged that the group weds off females as young as 14.

In response to inquiries from Guatemalan media, Goldman stated that he thinks the group’s youngest mother is “14 or 15 years old,” while the group’s oldest lady is 50.

“Yes,” he said, “we marry off youngsters.”

A 14-year-old girl who was saved from the sect gave birth to a child on Tuesday night, according to Bechadrei. The girl was brought to a hospital, where welfare officials are keeping an eye on her.

After allegedly suffering from horrific torture, 160 youngsters were rescued from the Lev Tahor cult complex in Guatemala on Friday.

The radical group had set up shop 78 kilometers southeast of Guatemala City, close to the city of Oratorio. According to the Guatemalan prosecution, the police conducted the raid in response to accusations regarding rampant child abuse, including forced marriages, human trafficking, and abuse.

Authorities suspect that the 40 women and 160 children who were captured during the operation were severely abused by the cult leaders and their members.

After four kids escaped last month and alerted the authorities, the operation was conducted.

    • They weren’t forced to marry. They had free will to say NO. This group, there is no free will. It’s halachikly ASSUR to force anyone too marry.

  1. lets hope niether parent of baby was born there. Also it isn’t one of their geirim, not sure that there geirus which is to a religeon based on Judaism, but has become a distant cousin of Judaism. I guess she was never divorced B4 this marriage, but you never know. Are their gitin Kosher? If they are forced? Who is the mesader? does he know the Holochos? has he got a kabolo for seder haget?
These people nopt only mess up others, they create major halachic problems.

  2. Our Shas and Shulchan Aruch are replete with takanos that were made to prevent the practice of ignoring Torah Shebe’al Peh. Our Kabolas Hatorah is firmly based on Divrei Chazal. Those who promote a lifestyle that blocks study and practice of Divrei Chazal are appropriately labeled apikorsim. We daven thrice daily for their downfall.

LT is a missionary cult, and it anti true Torah Yiddishkeit. If this was their only problem, we might as well ignore them. But they push this agenda on others, and the victimization of children is stunning. Let whatever government involved prosecute these rodfim to the fullest. May we be spared of curses like such missionary groups. To any commenters who refer to them as Jews or even distant cousins of Jews, please stop. What they are doing is in direct contradiction of Torah.
